So the title of this might be misleading? That sucks.... But since you are here, you might as well read this. (sucker)

Cover songs. Any idiot who can play an instrument or sing can cover a song, right? Yep.. However it is one thing butchering someones song, and it is another thing to do an original song justice. Though there are many successful bands that try and cover songs, (remember Bif Naked's cover of Metallicas Nothing else Matters? Terrible. Maybe you remember when Guns N' Roses covered Hair of the Dog. Ouch... And I am a GNR fan..) they don't always end up pretty.

Today I am not focusing on covers that I hate, but some of the ones I really enjoy. Now when I say I enjoy these covers, don't think I am saying they are better than the original. I am just saying that I think they are good for their own reasons

This list is not in any order.

The Gourds cover Snoop Doggs Gin and Juice. In my opinion there are not enough Country covers of rap songs. Musically I think this song is very well done. Great cover and very different from the original

Guns N' Roses cover The Skyliners Since I don't have you. I don't know why I love this song so much. I have no explanation, I hear it and the world seems like a fantastic place. Though it captures the feel of the original, it clearly has that sound that only GNR has

Zimmer's Hole cover Nazareth's This Flight Tonight - Fantastic. If you enjoy this, give it a listen a few times, the old one will seem like the slowest song ever. Did I mention these guys are Canadian? Also this song is near impossible to find online. I think someone skipped on royalties...

Corrosion of Conformity cover Black Sabbaths Fortunate Son. I enjoyed this because I was so surprised when it came out. I never expected that these guys could pull off this sound. I don't know another human who likes this cover but my love for it makes up for it! That is the beauty of music

Metallica cover Diamond Head's Am I Evil? There are so many covers Metallica did that I love. In picking this one, I am missing many. Check out the original, Metallica worked magic with this one. The old one sounds like an old video game song.

System of a Down cover Wu-Tang Clans Shame on a Nigga. Fantastic. I love SOAD, I love Wu-Tang, I love this cover. Having the RZA help on it only makes it better.

Ben Harper cover Queen's Under Pressure. Fantastic song. I think Ben Harper is one of the most talented humans ever. Not many people can cover Queen without butchering their songs. Metallica did a successful cover with "Stone Cold Crazy" , and so did Harper on this effort IMO

Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society cover Procol Harum's Whiter shade of Pale. Wait, Zakk doesn't just play guitar? This cover is fantastic, again one that no one likes. I love it. I cant help but feel that Zakk should of sang the Wonder Years theme song.

Sepultura cover Black Sabbaths Symptom of the Universe. I'll be honest, the drumming does it for me in this song.. A once heavy song made a million times heavier!

Megadeth cover Nancy Sinatra's These Boots are made for Walkin'. It is all about the guitar in this one. This is one of the most thrash metal songs I have ever heard. Though they got in a lot of trouble on this effort. Then the album was remastered they were forced to edit over half of the songs lyrics.

Chris Cornell cover Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. I was blown away by this cover. What a dark feel this song has. I was shocked when I learned that there are a lot of people who don't like Chris' vocals. I think this is an amazing cover!

DZK cover NIN The Great Below. Okay, this last one isn't exactly a cover, it is more of a "remix" with a lot of added lyrics. If you are familiar with DZK at all, this is as deep as he gets. I am a massive fan of anything this man does.

So this was a hard list.... There are a lot of covers I enjoy, but these are the ones that stood out the most at this moment. At a later date I may update it, or just add a few more songs. What covers do you like? Let us know in the comment section! And again, sorry for the misleading title.
